Fort Lauderdale is the operational capital of the American superyacht world: FLIBS is the largest in-water boat show anywhere, the 2025 edition displayed 158 superyachts, and the season runs as a triangle, Florida and the Bahamas in winter, New England in summer, Alaska for the expedition programmes. The drafting workflows aboard read the same off Port Everglades as off Palma: owner letters, incident reports, port paperwork and handover notes prepared for a named review before anything stands. What changes in the US season is the paperwork they feed, the reports to US Customs and Border Protection, the cruising-licence renewals and the bareboat conversions, all of it carrying the master's signature.
