What does Southern Sky AI do?

Southern Sky AI helps maritime leaders and organisations adopt AI deliberately, with documented direction, proper governance, and working environments built around how they operate. The practice works across two done-for-you tracks: a personal AI working environment for senior maritime professionals, and structured AI adoption for organisations from Blueprint through to Console. Academy is available to anyone building AI literacy independently.

What does structured AI adoption mean in practice?

Accepted Answer

It means making conscious decisions about AI before, during, and after implementation. Which tools are appropriate. What data they can touch. Who is accountable for outputs. Structured adoption produces documented direction that leadership can refer to, defend, and build on over time. The alternative is adoption by default, where AI arrives through vendor updates and staff experimentation without anyone having decided.

Who founded Southern Sky AI?

Kristina Agustin, Founder and Principal Digital Navigator. Kristina has twenty years of maritime industry experience spanning vessel operations, yacht management, compliance, and maritime law. She holds an AWS Certified AI Practitioner credential, a CPD Certified AI Trainer qualification, an IWAI Certified AI Practitioner credential, and is completing a Master of Artificial Intelligence. She is a 2026 Australian Technology and Science Elevate (ATSE) Scholar and an ISM and ISPS Internal Auditor with Designated Person Ashore experience.

AI Foundations for Maritime Professionals. A self-paced AI literacy course built for maritime professionals. It covers what AI is, where it applies to maritime operations, how to use it responsibly, and where professional judgment must stay in control. Certificate issued on completion.

What is the Command AI Console - Executive?

Accepted Answer

A done-for-you personal AI working environment configured around your specific role, priorities, and operational context. It runs on your own Claude team subscription. Southern Sky AI configures the workspace, loads your context, sets up your role-specific modules, produces your AI Use Policy, and trains you on your first workflows.

What is an AI Use Policy?

Before any Console is configured, we produce a brief AI Use Policy covering what data is appropriate to load into your workspace, what falls outside scope, and who remains accountable for outputs. It protects you professionally and ensures the system is governed from the first session.

What are modules?

Accepted Answer

Modules are configured AI workflows that address specific recurring frictions in your role, such as drafting compliance correspondence, producing owner reports, reviewing contracts, or managing crew documentation. Two to three modules are configured from day one. Additional modules are added over time. Each module is charged per month as part of your license.

What is Compass AI Blueprint?

A structured AI Opportunity and Governance Audit producing a decision-ready 3–6 month adoption plan. Blueprint maps your organisation's digital landscape, identifies where AI is already present, classifies risk and governance exposure, and produces a prioritised roadmap.

What is the Command AI Console - Organisation?

Accepted Answer

A done-for-you AI working environment built around your organisation, including your context, your priorities, your operational structure, and your documented Blueprint direction. Multi-user. Functional channels by department or role.

What is the client portal?

Accepted Answer

Every Console client, Executive or Organisation, receives access to the Compass AI Navigator portal. This is your client environment showing active modules, available modules, governance documentation including your AI Use Policy, and billing. It is the infrastructure of the ongoing relationship and remains active as long as there is a paid engagement.

How do you approach data sensitivity and confidentiality?

Every Console engagement begins with an AI Use Policy that classifies what data is appropriate to load into the working environment and what is not. The policy is produced before any configuration begins and is documented in the client portal.

Does AI replace people in this model?

Accepted Answer

No. Every Console is built on the principle that AI augments human judgment. Your team remains in control of decisions. AI handles the execution of well-defined tasks within documented boundaries.

We already have AI tools in use. Can you still help?

Accepted Answer

Yes. Most organisations come to Southern Sky AI with AI already present in their management software, communication platforms, and scheduling tools. Blueprint maps what is already there, classifies the exposure, and sequences what to address first.

How long does Blueprint typically take?

Accepted Answer

Six to eight weeks for most engagements. Larger organisations with more stakeholders and higher governance complexity may take longer.
