The feeder decides the spend
APACUmitron, based in Singapore and Tokyo, ships a solar-powered smart feeder whose appetite-index AI reads fish behaviour from camera video in real time and adjusts feed amount and speed automatically, with the company reporting feed-cost reductions of 10 to 20 percent. Feed is the largest cost line, and a machine now sets it while you sleep.
The certificate is a records audit
APACBy mid-2025 more than 1,450 farms across Ecuador, India, Thailand and Vietnam held ASC certificates, with chain-of-custody certification required at every handler. As the feeder logs the feeding and the camera estimates the biomass, the certifier's evidence chain becomes AI-touched, and no certifier has published AI expectations for that evidence yet.

What AI is already doing
The production AI is regional by origin as well as by adoption: the reference vendors are headquartered in Singapore and Tokyo, the Government of Japan showcases AI-driven aquaculture as a national capability, and Singapore funds farms that pair recirculating systems with AI monitoring under a national plan. The technology arrives with public backing; the operating rules on each farm arrive only when the farm writes them.

AI drafts the annual environmental review from the monitoring data, which turns the monitoring record into a submission faster, and the manager checks each figure against the benthic record before it goes to the regulator.
